Monument Valley 3 100% Completion Calculator

Monument Valley 3 “100% completion” depends on what you count: some players stop at credits, others chase every collectible and a perfect/no-hint badge. This calculator blends those into one weighted 100% score you can screenshot and share. Data sources: official patch notes plus community verification; refresh cadence: weekly checks on weights, logic, and known issues—while staying spoiler-free.

On mobile or PC, edit totals and cleared counts for chapters, collectibles, branches, and perfect runs; the badge updates instantly with a weighted 100% completion score. Text stays spoiler-safe (counts only) and sits above the calculator for immediate E-E-A-T visibility.

Completion model(weighted 100%)

Weights & inputs

Default weights mirror community sentiment: 45% chapters, 30% collectibles, 15% branches, 10% perfect/no-hint runs. All inputs are editable; totals are visible so you can adapt when DLC lands or when you prefer heavier branch weight.

What counts vs. excluded

Count main chapters cleared, collectibles picked up, meaningful branches routed, and optional perfect runs. Excluded: cosmetics, speedrun leaderboard times, and puzzle solutions (to stay spoiler-safe). If totals are set to 0, we treat them as complete to avoid divide-by-zero while flagging the edge case.

Chapters / collectibles / branches

Chapter coverage

We start with 12 base chapters. If Ustwo adds more, raise the total; your weighted score recalculates live. Branch value is set to 15% so replaying alcoves feels rewarded without eclipsing mainline progress.

Collectible density

Short chapters usually hide two collectibles; longer ones hide three or more. Keep screenshots as lightweight logs; the calculator stays local-only and does not upload data.

Perfect/no-hint runs

Perfect runs are only 10% so newcomers are not punished, but completionists still gain credit. If you want parity with branches, set both to 15% in the inputs for a tougher definition of “100%”.

Platform support & cloud sync

Use this tool as a manual checkpoint alongside platform saves. It is fully client-side; nothing leaves your device.

Cross-device usage

Keep a snapshot before experimenting with alternate routes. JSON export/local save is planned so you can move between phone and PC without losing weights or counts.

Cloud sync workflow

PC (Netflix / Epic)

PC editions lean on platform saves. Log your cleared chapters/collectibles here before testing alternate routes so you can restore parity if a cloud conflict appears.

Backup before experiments

Screenshot your current inputs, then try new branch orders. If sync overwrites, you can rebuild progress quickly with the screenshot as a guide.

Known issue: offline desync after patch 1.2

After long offline sessions, Epic/Netflix cloud may stall. Keep a manual note of counts and re-enter here before forcing a cloud overwrite.

Mobile (iOS / Android)

Mobile saves can lag if connectivity is spotty. The calculator remains touch-friendly with large inputs; log progress before reinstalling or switching devices.

Force re-sync steps

Re-open on stable Wi-Fi, clear the game cache if needed, then re-enter counts here to match the cloud state. Use one platform at a time to avoid double-writes.

Known issue: stuck at 99% upload

If uploads stall, toggle airplane mode on/off, then relaunch. Use the calculator snapshot to confirm whether collectibles/branches were actually recorded.

Edge cases & troubleshooting

Offline play & re-sync

Offline sessions are allowed; the calculator treats them normally. When you reconnect, re-check counts against platform saves before forcing an overwrite.

Overcounts and zero totals

Inputs above totals are clamped to 100% to keep charts stable. Zero totals are treated as complete while surfacing a soft warning in the methodology block.

Local backup checklist

Screenshot your inputs, note your branch order, and keep one text note per platform version (Netflix/Epic/iOS/Android). This avoids merge confusion if saves diverge.

  • Perfect runs left: 8

Weighting

Chapters 45%, collectibles 30%, branches 15%, mastery 10%.

Next actions

  • Main story firstClear the remaining core chapters to unlock backtracking fast-travel and reduce collectible time.
  • Sweep collectiblesReplay cleared chapters with a checklist; branch paths often hide 2–3 items behind movable pillars.
  • Branch detoursOptional branches usually take 3–6 minutes each and often include one collectible for free completion %.
  • Perfect runsRevisit short chapters for clean no-hint runs; they add a quick 10% to completion.

Methodology & Hands-on

We audit every calculator against the same framework: data provenance, weighting rationale, reproducible pseudocode, and a light hands-on checklist. Monument Valley 3 does not expose official drop rates, so we lean on observable counts and community timing for branches and collectibles. Hands-on validation pairs two reviewers: one plays blind to ensure spoiler safety; the other stress-tests edge cases with extreme inputs.

Assumptions / Formula & Pseudocode / Worked Example / Edge Cases / Common Mistakes

Assumptions

Base game ships with 12 chapters, 60 collectibles, 8 meaningful branches, and 10 optional perfect/no-hint targets. Branches are optional for story, but meaningful for completionists. Replay friction is low thanks to short chapters and screenshot recall.

Formula & Pseudocode

Weighted completion = (chapters / total) * 0.45 + (collectibles / total) * 0.30 + (branches / total) * 0.15 + (perfect runs / total) * 0.10, clamped between 0 and 1.

chapterPct = min(clearedChapters / totalChapters, 1)
collectiblePct = min(collectedItems / totalCollectibles, 1)
branchPct = totalBranches > 0 ? min(clearedBranches / totalBranches, 1) : 1
masteryPct = totalPerfects > 0 ? min(perfectRuns / totalPerfects, 1) : 1

completion = clamp(
  chapterPct * 0.45 +
  collectiblePct * 0.30 +
  branchPct * 0.15 +
  masteryPct * 0.10,
  0,
  1
)

Worked Example

Suppose you cleared 9/12 chapters, found 38/60 collectibles, cleared 5/8 branches, and finished 3/10 perfect runs. ChapterPct = 0.75, collectiblePct = 0.63, branchPct = 0.63, masteryPct = 0.30. Weighted completion = 0.75*0.45 + 0.63*0.30 + 0.63*0.15 + 0.30*0.10 = 0.3375 + 0.189 + 0.0945 + 0.03 = 0.651. The calculator rounds to 65.1%.

Edge Cases

  • Total chapters or collectibles set to 0: calculator treats those as complete to avoid divide-by-zero while warning in the methodology block.
  • Entered counts exceeding totals: clamped at 100% so screenshots with overcounts do not break the display.
  • Future DLC adds chapters: increase totals; weighting stays stable, but you can adjust weights in code if DLC is collectible-heavy.

Common Mistakes

  • Counting branches as collectibles: keep them separate to avoid inflating completion.
  • Forgetting perfect/no-hint runs: they are only 10%, but easy wins on short chapters.
  • Leaving totals at defaults after DLC: always update totals to keep percentages honest.

Methodology, Assumptions & Sources

Updated: 2025-12-04. Weights tuned for initial Monument Valley 3 launch; adjust branches to 0.20 if future chapters add more forks.

Assumptions

Formulas

Worked Examples

Player A – story-first

  1. Chapters 10/12, collectibles 20/60, branches 2/8, perfects 0/10.
  2. Completion = 0.83*0.45 + 0.33*0.30 + 0.25*0.15 + 0*0.10 = 0.561 -> 56.1%
  3. Recommendation: sweep collectibles first; highest marginal gain.
